WW1 Cavalry Lance & Accessories
£6,500.00Price
WW1 dated ash wood British cavalry lance as used on the Western Front in the early stages of WW1 before the devastation of machine guns and artillery made the use of horse-mounted troops redundant. Extremely rare for any collection, the only example found being an exhibit in the IWM in London (a german comparable lance rests as an exhibit in the Latvian War museum in Riga). Grouped with its original leather stirrup boot, a pair of cavalry spurs, a cavalryman's bandolier, and a WW1 leather saddle rifle holster for the SML Enfield, used once the troops dismounted and continued as infantry. To have all these original items as a single collection is extremely rare. Museum grade.
