USMC Ka-Bar Fighting Knife

The USMC Ka-Bar fighting knife is a combat knife first adopted by the United States Marine Corps in November 1942. It was originally called the 1219C2 combat knife or the USMC Mark 2 combat knife, and later the U.S. Navy utility knife, Mark 21. It was designed as a low-cost, easy-to-manufacture replacement for the Mark I trench knife for use in hand-to-hand combat2. The knife became a legend among the Marines, who used it for various purposes in the field. This one, in its original sheath, and dating from the 1960's was issued to US Marines in Vietnam from the 1960's onwards. Lovely condition with a strong patina.
