M17 Gas Mask & Bag
The M17 gas mask was the primary mask issued to US troops in the 1960s, 70s and 80s. The M17 eliminated the need for a canister due to filters located in the cheek of the mask. The mask was designed to protect against respiratory gas attacks, biological attacks, and radioactive particles. Tinted eye lenses allow for greater visibility and less fogging up, while the integrated drinking tube allows the user to access their canteen without being contaminated. The elastic strap system allows the user to quickly put on their mask and synch it down tight. The voice emitter allows for better communication than previous generation masks. This Mid-60's Vietnam War issued gas mask is a great would make a good collector's piece for a period that is growing in collectability.
