Batterie Todt Ring

Batterie Todt Ring

SKU: 0010
£2,250.00Price

A silver hallmarked (faint) ring made specifically for troops stationed on the Atlantic Wall at the Seigfreid Battery, later renamed for the civil architect, and Hitler's first Minister of Works and party member, Fritz Todt following his death in a plane crash in 1943. The Todt (Siegfried) Battery was the largest, and most impressive of the Atlantic coastal defences, and troops stationed her from Kriegsmarine, Wehrmacht (and some SS) were selected for duty not recruited. This ring was a symbol of their exclusive position and was sized for wear on the small finger. The accompanying photo illustrates this. The silver ring "Batterie Todt" is an incredibly rare artifact, and very few are ever seen on the market. The last example searchably sold on the open market did so in 2012 for over $1100, and another sold more recently at auction in 2020 - no doubt this will become available for sale. The rarity of this item cannot be underestimated. From a Canadian veteran's estate.
